MU Signs Academic Collaboration
The Signing Ceremony between MU and
* On 10 July MU finalized a General Agreement for Academic
Collaboration with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium
(Free University of Belgium), which calls for mutual information
exchange, improvement of research and education programs, and
exchange of staff and students.
* On 2 August, President Tisato Kajiyama and Dean Masaru Himeno
of Kyushu University, Japan, arrived at MU and met with
MU President Prof. Pornchai Matangkasombut to attend the Signing
Ceremony of an Agreement for Academic Co-Operation with MU, as
well as a Memorandum on Student Exchange (see photo, right).
The Agreement and Memorandum are outgrowths of longstanding faculty-level
collaboration projects with MU's Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty
of Science, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, and Faculty
of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, extending academic cooperation
to a university-wide level. They call for exchange of academic
and administrative staff and students, cooperation in research,
and exchange of academic materials.
* On 2 August, Assoc. Prof. Seiichi Kawahara from Nagaoka
University of Technology, Japan, visited MU President Prof.
Pornchai Matangkasombut, to sign a new university-level Agreement
of Academic and Educational Collaboration and discuss the continuing
status of joint research and student and staff exchange programs
in existence since 1999 with the Department of Chemistry of MU's
Faculty of Science.
